Inauguration of CEREAT
The building of the European centre for research on water, the environment, food and toxicology brings together specialized research units and staff who previously worked on several different sites.
The building has a floor area of 12,000 sq.m. and brings together research units and staff specialized in these areas who previously worked on several different sites. The inauguration of CEREAT marks the accomplishment of work begun in December 2002 under the auspices of the Institute’s Board of Directors and its Director, Professor Philippe Amouyel.
Their goal: expand the Institute’s already significant capacities and expertise relating to health and the environment. CEREAT will thus consolidate its leading place in these fields of scientific excellence.
Looking beyond the building itself, CEREAT is above all a human endeavor that embodies the Institute’s mission in combining research, technology transfers and know-how. The teams on the site will be setting up joint programs, giving each other the benefit of their specialized expertise and helping all of us to live healthier, longer lives in a protected environment.
